About PROTCROWN This is an introduction to our database

The PROTCROWN platform for nanoparticle protein coronas represents a groundbreaking resource that, for the first time, comprehensively collects and organizes protein corona-related data at a visual level.

As an open-access database, PROTCROWN integrates diverse functionalities, including the storage and retrieval of protein corona datasets, data visualization, and data feature analysis.

Through this platform, researchers can more conveniently access a wealth of data resources in the field of protein coronas and intuitively explore correlations and trends among the data using its powerful visualization tools.

The establishment of PROTCROWN not only provides strong data support for protein corona research but also significantly promotes scientific progress and academic exchange in this field.

Data Summary The latest Protcrown data can be viewed below

The Nano Protein Crown Database (Protcrown),being a meticulously curated database.

Exerts a profoundly radical influence on the exploration of proteins at the nanoscale research level.

Relevant Question

Protein corona refers to a layer or multiple layers of protein composite layer formed on the surface of the nanoparticle when the nanoparticle enters the organism and interacts with the biomolecules (especially protein molecules) in the organism. This protein composite layer can reduce the surface energy of the nanoparticles, and a dynamically balanced protein corona is formed due to the competitive adsorption of proteins on the surface of the nanoparticles.

The composition of the protein corona is complex and includes many different protein molecules. These protein molecules may come from the blood plasma, extracellular fluid, etc., and the interaction between them and the nanoparticles can be non-specific or specific. The process of protein cap formation is affected by many factors, such as the surface properties, size and shape of nanoparticles, as well as the types and concentrations of proteins in organisms.

The protein corona has an important influence on the biological effects of nanoparticles, which can change the surface properties of nanoparticles, thus affecting their interaction with cells, endocytosis, toxicity and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the influence of protein corona when studying the biological effects of nanoparticles.
